Making a start …

Hello! I am so excited to be here, but I am not used to writing or talking about myself so it will be a challenge!

I think I will just tell you as it is: where I’ve been, what I’ve been doing, and how things are going in my art world. So here goes…

August 2nd 2023.

Tts pouring with rain in London and we are all wondering where the summer has gone. I have a small black and tan puppy, Rufus, who is 8 and half months old, very mischievous and currently very frustrated at not being taken for longer walks.

Like Rufus, I also love walking, but not today. I have been on a bus for most of the morning having travelled to the Royal Academy in Piccadilly and back. I went to see the Summer Exhibition, which was fun albeit a mystery how some of the pictures are accepted and then win prizes. The most inspiring was the back street abortion wardrobe where you can close its doors and pretend you didn’t notice!

Back at home I am embarking on another felting project. Its like a drug – addictive – I just have to do it. The mystery and the challenge of finding a way to manipulate the wool into something structural that you can then mould into a shape or painting is quite magical.

This is what I have made today, I hope I can inspire others with my work!
