Trees have always fascinated me. I love walking among them. The sensation of being surrounded by the warm green leaves feels like having a big hug. I love to sit and observe their shapes, their curves, their textures, the shadows they create, and their seemingly conversations as they bend in the wind.
It wasn’t raining today so Rufus and I were discovering the woods of The Windmill, Wimbledon. It has become one of my favorite places. I picked blackberries while Rufus ran around, and I spent time sketching the trees individually as well as their relationship to one other.
I tend to work using concertina books which allows each page to flow from one to the other. Below you will find my interpretation of today’s trees! with their smells & sounds ………
Next time you pass a tree. Stop and take a look and see. Feel their presence. What do they say? The more you observe the more you will see.
