Clare is a mixed media artist using acrylics and watercolours combined with her love of textiles. Her canvas varies from a Merino Wool felted backdrop into which other felts and or paper are agitated together to a traditional canvas surface where paint is applied.

Her inspiration comes from everyday life – her observation of those around her, the colours and shapes that emerge from her travels , including her walks with her dog –  the contours in the landscape, rivers and especially trees.

“My practice is daily .   My starting point is usually a sketch before commencing the artwork, which is then produced quickly and intuitively giving it a strong sense of energy and vitality.”
