1–8 September Sergeac, Dordogne

Join Katie for a week’s art holiday in Sergeac, Dordogne, France this September.

I’m organising the retreat, and our hosts will be Claire-Louise and Bruce. We’ll be staying in their beautiful home and gîtes right on the Vézère River. It’s a peaceful and inspiring setting, surrounded by walnut groves and châteaux.

Katie will guide us through a relaxing and mindful week of drawing, qigong, and deep rest. If you’re not familiar with qigong, it is a gentle movement and breathing practice that can beautifully support and inspire your art.

I’ve attended Katie’s classes before, and she has a wonderful way of helping you enter a creative flow where freedom, process, and presence become just as important as the finished work.

We’ll be working on some larger pieces as well as smaller studies — some outdoors in the landscape, and some in our studio just outside the main house.

Everyone will have their own room, with options to bring a partner or share a room with a friend.

Flights to Bergerac will be suggested once we have confirmed numbers. We’ll arrange collection from the airport and transport to Gîtes L’Enclos, where the retreat will take place.

There will also be excursions to the historic caves, the Sunday market, and a few local walks. If there’s anything you’d prefer not to join, that’s absolutely fine (apart from the art!). There are also onsite swimming pools and plenty of time to relax.
