January 16th – 23rd 2027
Exploring Tangiers with a sketchbook alongside Kate Measham
A week of observation, mark-making, and exploration — working both in the studio and out in Tangier town and the landscape..
I’m delighted to invite you to join me in Tangier, Morocco, for a truly special series of immersive creative retreats in January–February 2027 — a week (or weeks) of exciting art, beautiful surroundings, and shared inspiration. See workshops page for details
Our first week is:
Kate Measham – exploring Tangier on foot and creating in the studio January 16th to 23rd 2027
We’ll be based at Dar Sinclair, a stunning, recently renovated private villa set in the exclusive mountain area of Tangier, overlooking sweeping views of the Bay of Tangier. This will be our creative home: calm, luxurious, and nurturing — the perfect environment to slow down, observe, and get into our art. There hope for 10 of us, so there will also be time to chat, eat, drink, make friends and have a lovely experience.
For those of you that have attended these away art workshops previously, you will know how hard we work and play and how much pleasure it all brings.
Where We’ll Stay
Dar Sinclair is a beautifully staffed villa set within 3 acres of terraced gardens, leading down to a tranquil 6-metre swimming pool. All main bedrooms enjoy breathtaking views across the city and sea.
Cost & What’s Included
£2300 per person, per week
All inclusive except flights
( it is recommended that each person takes out their own travel insurance)
The price includes:
– Collection from Tangiers Airport
– Tuition and some materials although you will be asked to bring some bits dependant on the week
– Luxury accommodation
– All meals prepared daily
– Fully staffed house and housekeeping
– Use of gardens, pool, and studio spaces
– A deeply supportive and inspiring creative environment
Please note: there is one day during the week when our wonderful house staff have a well-earned rest day (a little like a ski-chalet arrangement). On this day, I hope to organise an optional outing focused on Moroccan crafts and textiles. While I will do my best to include the cost of this excursion, you may wish to allow extra funds for lunch, supper, and any personal purchases.
Also, Morocco has a tipping culture, and it is customary to tip house staff and drivers at the end of the stay. I will offer guidance on this during the week.
This retreat is about time, space, and attention — stepping away from everyday demands to focus fully on your creative practice, while being beautifully looked after in one of North Africa’s most inspiring cities.
Places are limited, and some weeks will fill quickly. The middle felting week has already been filled. The other weeks have interested people whom i will email separately.
